2011 Kia Rio에서 저속으로 천천히 전진 또는 후진할 때 허브캡 뒤에 자갈이나 작은 이물질이 있는 것으로 의심되며, 팝핑 또는 딱딱거리는 소리(팝락이나 라이스 크리스피 같은)가 들림. 모래 위에서 굴러가는 무거운 차처럼 '모래' 같은 소리가 나며, 매끄러운 포장도로에서도 발생하고, Rio는 상대적으로 가벼운 자동차이므로 예상과 맞지 않음.
처리 내용
Steve가 말한 대로 자갈이나 이물질이 없다면 정상 소음일 가능성이 있음. 타이어는 도로면과의 접촉 패치를 형성할 때 약간 변형되며, 이때 러버 트레드가 늘어났다 압축되면서 '呻吟' 소리를 냄. 러버의 품질과 유형, 트레드 패턴, 타이어의 나이, 도로 표면이 소음 품질에 영향을 미침. 정상 주행 속도에 도달하면 이러한 변형이 정상적인 배경 소음이 됨. 이 효과로 타이어의 공기실과 공명을 형성하여 드로닝 소리가 발생할 수도 있음. 베어링이나 다른 회전 부품의 기계적 문제일 수도 있음. 일반적으로 베어링 문제는 회전이 빠를수록 더 커지지만, 초기 손상 단계에서는 그렇지 않을 수 있음. 다양한 도로 표면(아스팔트 vs 콘크리트 vs 코팅/칠해진 포장도로)에서 롤링할 때 소음이 변하면 정상적인 타이어 소음일 가능성이 높음. 소음이 변하지 않으면 갇혀있는 것이 있을 수 있음.
