Never once have I felt that my car would be improved by having more than it's current 160bhp.There's a difference between your statement though and what others are meaning and saying. Your suspension and brakes are probably adequate for your 160bhp, that doesn't mean it's not brilliant fun having 400/500/600bhp in a fast road car with everything there to support that power. My 600LT is an absolute monster fast road car, yet you can pootle around off boost and in auto and daily it quite happily. The chassis and steering could easily cope wit
Road car performance quickly becomes academic.Up until recently, many people were keen to try to make their cars go faster.Nowadays, very fast cars are available to those who want them. The first time I rode a 1000cc sports bike (pre rider aids), I was stunned by the performance (and having to really hang on to the bars!), but realised that it was way beyond anything that I could make use of on the road. I stuck to mid-power bikes. Modern sports bikes are even faster. Cars can now accelerate similarly.Even amongst normal cars, almost all of them are more than quick enough for road use and overtaking.Very few people "make progress", even in the fast cars.As various people have pointed out, though, here and elsewhere, using the full acceleration of the very fast cars is often not very pleasant. High speeds are now frowned and severely punished. An engine with low down torque and a max of around 200bhp in a medium car is enough really in a chassis that is rewarding to drive.Edited by MC Bodge on Sunday 16th August 11:29

Where Maserati falls short is something like a suspension part on a Maserati 4200 that is nla.The availability or price of parts on a Maserati can quite rightly receive c

It was used in the Corolla GTi though.Yes I know it wasn't used in the Celica what I'm getting at is it would of upset the applecart. If it had a 4age in it. It would of been as quick, if not quicker than the Celica so why would anyone have spent double on buying a Celica every car has its place in a manufacturers line up. This was placed in the budget friendly coupe. Do you think putting the 1.6L 112bhp 4AGE engine in the Paseo would have made it quicker than the 2.0L 173bhp 3SGE engine mk6

I can't recall whether you've fitted lowering springs to the Corsa (or if the ecoFLEX model is fitted with them as standard), but aren't B8s for cars with lowering springs, whereas B6s are for standard springs?2. When various BMW guys on here fit Eibach lowering springs to their cars, they tend to fit B4S dampers as they've found B8s to be too firm.
