증상
엔진 경고등이 빗올 때 자주 켜짐. 최근까지는 코드가 메모리에 저장되지 않았으나, 마지막 진단 시 P0420 코드 발생. 2006년식 차량, 주행거리 10만 마일. 산소 센서는 교체한 적 없음. 엔진 경고등이 켜져도 차량 성능 변화 없음.
처리 내용
정비사의 진단이 합리적임. 산소 센서 신호를 확인했다면 더욱 신뢰할 수 있음. 촉매변환기는 6년/10만 마일에 고장날 수 있으며, 특히 단거리 주행이 많으면 더 빨리 고장날 수 있음. 먼저 다운스트림 산소 센서(후단 O2 센서) 교체 시도를 권장함. 습한 날씨와의 연관성: 촉매변환기 효율이 낮아지면 더 높은 온도가 필요하며, 차량 아래 위치하므로 빗물 튀김으로 인해 냉각되어 습도가 높은 날씨에 문제 발생 가능. 백금-팔라듐의 산소 분리 성능은 온도에 직접 영향을 받음. 애프터마켓 촉매변환기는 정품보다 저렴하며, 성능도 충분한 경우가 많으므로 검토해볼 가치 있음.
