증상
크랭크 문제로 인해 무료로 획득한 2015년식 쉐보레 350 엔진. 200마일만 주행한 엔진을 분해 완료. 피스톤 링을 교체해야 하는지, 기존 링을 그대로 사용 가능한지 확인 필요. 압축 손실 우려.
처리 내용
200마일만 주행한 엔진이므로 실린더 벽면에 스코어링이나 기타 손상이 없다면 기존 피스톤 링을 그대로 사용 가능합니다. 다만 SBC(스몰 블록 쉐보레) 350용 순정 피스톤 링 세트는 매우 저렴하므로(Summit에서 $100 이하), 전체 오버홀 키트(베어링, 링, 가스켓 포함)를 구입하는 것을 권장합니다. 200마일 주행 블록이라면 실린더 벽의 글레이징을 제거할 필요도 없을 정도로 양호합니다. 어차피 가스켓 세트는 구입해야 하고 엔진이 이미 분해된 상태이므로, 신품 부품으로 교체하는 것이 현명합니다. 한 번에 제대로 정비하면 추후 문제 걱정이 없습니다.
