LightweightLouisDanvers said: Well today I acquired (inherited?) an old tractor.Its a 1955 TED20, petrol / tvo.My dad bought this little Fergie 20+ years ago and did a bit of recommissioning but it has sat outside unused for a good few years now.He never had any need for a tractor but just wanted one and this last few years he's been asking me to take it and I finally agreed, much to my wife's displeasure, because I have zero need for a tractor either.Not tried starting it yet, trailered over to our place and pushed into the garage. I'll give it an oil change, fresh coolant and petrol along with new plugs, points, condenser, rotor arm and distributor cap before trying to start it.I think ill repaint it, if it still had its original factory paint I would just preserve it but it been re painted at least once in its 71 years so ill not be destroying patina. Might use it as excuse to learn to spray paint, it won't matter if it's not a perfect job.What a great old thing...and a fantastic winter project, keep posting an update so we can see how your getting on with it.If you want to paint it do it, its your project and you'll learn more skills as you go, look on it as preservation exercise.
