dEViantTesla said: Depends on the Tesla. I would avoid any of the Model S performance, or RWD variants. They have the dreaded Large Drive Unit, which needs something called a "coolant delete" done to it. Basically, the coolant ends up bleeding past a rotor seal, fills up the motor, and then the drive inverter, killing it in short order. If that's already been done, then it's all good. Perfect combination is the 90D. 2 small motors for AWD, plus the most reliable, quickest charging battery. They are cheap to buy now. Upkeep is variable. They screw through tyres. Mine last about 2 track days, and maybe 5000 miles of road use for the fronts (minus 3.2 camber). That's on Conti SC7's. I will go over to CR-S for track only. I've done 184,000 miles in mine in the last 10 years, all for free, as I have "SC01", which comes with the car, and gives you free charging at Tesla superchargers. Yes, I was a petrolhead, with a V8 Ford Sierra, Capri's, Opel Manta's, a load a JDM stuff, but for mental acceleration, nothing stock takes off like electric does. I still have a Mk7.5 Golf GTI with a DSG box, but it feels so slow now..... Ours was a P100D which I'd guess had the big motors. Stupidly quick at road speeds but I can't imagine using it on track where there's corners'n'stuff. An S with free charging still makes a lot of sense...
