Bit weird for me this. The current Defender just seems so far away from the sort of thing you'd expect the MoD to order, as it's very much on the "production car" side of things, rather than a utility vehicle. That doesn't mean it's not a good car, but it certainly doesn't sit in the same ballpark as the likes of the old Defender, Land Cruiser or Grenadier. It would be fascinating to see just how much of the fancy electronics remain in this Wolf version, or whether they've paired it back to make it simpler and easier to repair in the field.For me, I find it hard to see how they'd pick this over the Toyota or Ineos offerings, but it will be interesting to see how it all develops.

I think I'm broken because I saw the £60k price tag for the R32 GT-R and thought "hmm, not bad". Anyway for me the S660 is the most interesting, something truly JDM, quirky and thinking out-of-the-box. I feel like I've experienced all the others in some form or other.

Same spec as my 620S had re the cage, seats, lack of windscreen etc. For how it drove it was utterly, utterly wonderful. Why don't i have it anymore? Well with that cage the wind to the face (even with the helmet) means only short runs are bearable, to fit a windscreen meant a different cage, but that sits closer to your head if you had no helmet.. and on the road every X5 thing just looked like a recipe for your own fatality and oh.. from new when i bought, it it was continuously unreliable - even on sunny days! It was my 3rd but sadly my last.
