증상
I4 엔진(149 ft-lb@8300RPM, 237HP)과 I6 엔진(254 ft-lb@4200RPM, 276HP)을 비교할 때 토크 특성의 차이를 이해하려고 함. I6가 I4보다 약 41% 더 많은 토크를 생산하는데, 실린더는 50% 더 많고(6 vs 4) RPM은 50% 낮음. 이것이 정상인지 확인 필요.

무료 점심은 없습니다. 단순히 실린더를 추가하는 것만으로는 더 많은 마력을 얻을 수 없습니다. 엔진은 더 효율적이거나 더 많은 공기와 연료를 공급받아야 합니다. 같은 크기의 실린더를 추가하고 동일한 공기-연료 유량을 유지한다고 가정할 때: 회전 질량이 증가합니다. 피스톤의 무게만이 아니라 연결봉, 크랭크 핀, 캠, 밸브도 더 많아집니다. 회전시킬 질량이 증가하면 엔진은 더 낮은 RPM에서 작동하게 됩니다. 이것이 I6가 더 낮은 RPM에서 최대 토크를 전달하는 이유입니다. 두 엔진의 배기량, 흡입 효율, 연료 분사량 등 다른 설계 변수들도 비교 결과에 영향을 미칩니다.
