I also noticed how much the interior reminded me of a transit van Surprising - they do 100mph in between ~8 and ~15 seconds depending on model, so not as if they run out of puff. But there is that electric thing that you get everything you're going to get when you ask for it, there's no coming on cam or building boost or downshifting, etc, so I guess that if you aren't used to it and subconsciously expecting the performance to build from there it's going to be surprising when it doesn't.
