But equally, I'd far rather have a razor sharp NA engine with a musical multi cylinder sound track and a precise manual box than electric by an absolute mile.Apart from the lack of noise, the problem with an EV in terms of driving engagement is the power delivery. It's all wrong. It gives maximum acceleration immediately, which obviously sounds good. The problem is that the performance simply tails off as you keep your foot in, it's the opposite of what's exciting. In a really good ICE car, the engine builds to a exciting crescendo in terms of both thrust and noise as you keep your foot in. And then you get to change gear and do it all again. It's obviously just serendipitous that ICE works like that. But it ends up being so thrilling compare to booting it, getting a massive instant response, no noise and the performance gradually falling off. You're not doing anything, you're not engaging with the powertrain, and there's no aural theatre.Obviously you can get very fast EVs that are so quick that keeping your foot in for an extended period in the real world is difficult in any case. And you can certainly scare yourself with the sheer performance. But personally I don't find that exciting or engaging. It's incredibly one dimensional. The best driver's EVs won't be the fastest, just as the best driver's ICE aren't the fastest. The whole 0-60mph in under 2 seconds things is already pretty tedious. A really good driver's EV will be one where there's quite a bit of performance, but not so much you can't savour the precision of the power delivery and use it to adjust the balance of the car etc. A really good NA engine offers those attributes, too, just with so much more character and involvement. So, I can see EV being a really interesting alternative for an Elise type car where the engine was pretty mundane lump pinched from a

Quite like that. Seems good condition & obvious curio out of all the hatches of the time.Treat it like a mini exotic GT car rather than a Type R rival & I recckon it fits the brief.Price wise given the scarcity of these is about correct for the right enthusiast. Should get some money off as well I would argue.

You may have read my post previously about the Overland Yeti / subsequent Yeti TSI conversion which appears to have inspired a couple of PHers so far to head to Morocco, which is great! it has been awesome reading of poppopbangbang's Cayenne adventure and CA with his L405.https://www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?h=0&...Well anyone that read the original thread will know that things didn't go completely to plan and ultimately we were let down by road car build quality which just isn't that suitable to the trials and tribulations of overland action (at least not at the hands of amateurs, an
