I used to get the hairdresser comments when I owned a Boxster back in 2005, how time flies
dave_s13 said: Short versionI'm 6'4" and we had a mk2.5 many years ago and although I could drive it fine it was a squeeze for me, especially my knees touching wheel. Are the newer ones any more roomy for the lanky among us?Longer versionWe had a mk2.5 (I think) just over 18 yrs ago. I had to sell it to pay for IVF for my now eldest daughter... who's 17. We've now ended up with 3 cars.1. Tesla model y performance2. Nissan leaf (2019 40kwh)3. Citroen c1 (2013) - which I fkin love and will choose over either of the above for a local trip. This is my daughter's car though as she's learning to drive. The Tesla is needed, and also excellent. The leaf is paid for and basically free transport but I honestly hate the damn thing. I can't help thinking getting rid and using the cash towards an MX5 can only be a good idea, especially given you apparently can't buy them anymore. Please tell me this is a good idea, as long as I can fit in the bloody thing.Edited by dave_s13 on Thursday 27th August 21:13 I have had multiple NA/NB and NC s over the years. Only sat in a couple of NDโs but I would say that the NC would be your best bet. Way more space than your 2.5.Edited by buccal on Friday 28th August 07:07Edited by buccal on Friday 28th August 07:08

I think I'm broken because I saw the ยฃ60k price tag for the R32 GT-R and thought "hmm, not bad". Anyway for me the S660 is the most interesting, something truly JDM, quirky and thinking out-of-the-box. I feel like I've experienced all the others in some form or other.

Jon_S_Rally said: I like it. The track version is bonkers (in a good way), while the "normal" one looks quite handsome in a world of crap, over-fussy designs. I hope they make a good go of it.Watcher of the skies said: Looks much better without all that Halfords crap on it.I can't see a bike rack? Halfords stopped selling modified car bits about 20 years ago. It might be time to get some new references.Fair enough - but you understood what I meant.

Same spec as my 620S had re the cage, seats, lack of windscreen etc. For how it drove it was utterly, utterly wonderful. Why don't i have it anymore? Well with that cage the wind to the face (even with the helmet) means only short runs are bearable, to fit a windscreen meant a different cage, but that sits closer to your head if you had no helmet.. and on the road every X5 thing just looked like a recipe for your own fatality and oh.. from new when i bought, it it was continuously unreliable - even on sunny days! It was my 3rd but sadly my last.

GianiCakes said: Ridiculous to go off the shelf no matter how customised. Modern road cars, and the Defender is a very good one, are too far away from military requirements.A bespoke vehicle will be better in the long run. If it can be done for London taxis then I can t see why it won t work for the military. No doubt what will be offered will be a stripped down, easy to maintain, "no frills" version. The advantage of going off the shelf is spares are easily available, production is already up and running and there is a very low risk of something going wrong, or the vehicle not working. Which,
