Brake fluid is every two years for a start and more than £100 to get done, air-conditioning regas is more than £50 (and should either be infrequent or its likely more work is needed), the tyres don't last long, neither does the suspension though not quite the stshow of some of the 3s. Drive units are far from bombproof and the risk with the battery is it won't just gracefully degrade, but one day wll just give you a terminal failure.Plus there's the general parts availability which really doesn't help with bills. Nice enough car from the time when they actually put the effort in but they're not perfect and they can be ruinous, just like any aging heavy 'premium' car.Unless you're track racing, tyres will last 20k+, drive units and battery packs are hardly a major concern. Brake fluid is £150 at tesla (i own one) or half that at Halfords. Control arms will last 50k+. So no, £1500 a year is make believe
