You can get a newer phase 2 Clio for similar. I've entered into shed territory with a 2001 1.2 (much more power than in the Mk1 with a 16V engine) with a car mentioned in the very long shed thread on here. The road tax is less at £200 and better on fuel. Admittedly not quite as low mileage as this one, but the frequent mention of corrosion would make it a 'non' from me.

Admittedly not quite as low mileage as this one, but the frequent mention of corrosion would make it a 'non' from me.Only if you have the 75bhp 16v version, Renault also made the Phase 2 1.2 in 60bhp 8v trim - although 'much more power' is a relative term rather than absolute here LOLI had a Phase 2 2001 Grande as my second car, felt like a starship compared with the 1989 K10 Nissan Micra it replaced though.I said it's the 16V engine, 75 bhp v 59 bhp is quite a hike in my books, makes it less turgid. The slower 8V engines phase 2 cars are widely available for £1k or less.
