I got my renewal from Admiral last week and it had increased 25% (not due to any changes on my end).I shopped around and got it 25% cheaper elsewhere.I call Admiral to cancel the renewal, they ask why, explain the economy is bad (literally, the guy tried to give me a 60 second lesson on economics) and tried the usual retention pitch. I said thanks but no thanks, please cancel renewal. Okay, done, sorry to see you go etc etc.My new insurer than asks for proof of NCB, so I log in to my still-active Admiral account to download it, and lo and behold, they renewed it anyway So I had to ring up to c

Isn’t it strange how you can do many policy changes and updates on the app but not cancel the renewal?I had the ‘Oh, if you’re thinking of leaving we can do better on the price, it’d be £x cheaper’, an offer I declined and told them I’d expect the best price on renewal, not when calling to cancel so I’m still leaving.I said the same.I'd already done my research and paid for my next policy before I rang up to cancel the renewal. The fact you can't cancel the renewal online is clearly a deliberate stalling tactic.
