증상
촉매변환기를 배기 테스트 파이프로 교체한 후 배기 누수 발생. 플랜지를 전체적으로 조여도 누수 지속. 한쪽 면에서만 누수되며, 처음에는 파이프 아래에서 누수되다가 가스켓을 뒤집어서 다시 조인 후에는 위에서 누수됨. 새 가스켓을 구입해서 시도했으나 같은 문제 발생. 플랜지 주변에 1시간 이상 작업했지만 여전히 누수됨. 2개의 가스켓 사용함.
처리 내용
구 촉매변환기에서 나온 미드 파이프에 가스켓이 구워져(baked on) 붙어 있었음. 손으로 만져보니 즉시 명확해짐. 미드 파이프의 플랜지 면을 완전히 깨끗이 닦아내야 새 가스켓이 제대로 밀폐됨. RTV 실런트 사용은 권장되지 않음 - 먼저 접촉 면을 완전히 청소할 것.
