증상
2008 Ford Focus를 점프 스타트해야 하는데, 아내의 2006 Volvo S60을 사용하려고 함. Volvo의 배터리가 트렁크에 있고 사용 설명서에서 점프 스타트용으로 사용하지 말라고 함. 대신 엔진룸을 사용하도록 권장하지만 자세한 설명이 없음. Volvo 후드 아래의 양극과 음극 터미널이 어디에 있는지 알아야 함.
처리 내용
트렁크의 배터리를 사용해도 됨. 사용 설명서에서 사용하지 말라고 하는 이유는 감전 위험 때문일 뿐 케이블 연결에 능숙하고 배터리에 충분히 접근 가능하면 문제없음. Mazda, Chrysler, BMW, Mercedes 등도 배터리가 시트 아래나 트렁크에 있어서 엔진룸 터미널 사용을 권장함 (사용자 안전 때문). Volvo 후드 안의 퓨즈박스 근처에 빨간색 캡이 있는 볼트가 있음 - 이것이 양극(Live Wire). 점프 스타트할 때 일반적으로 음극(검정색)을 엔진에 직접 연결하여 스타터에 그라운드를 공급함. 이 방식이 차량에 적용됨.
