Another chapter of my car journey begins. At the age of 46, this will be car number #25. Like many on this forum, I obviously have issues Car number 24 was my much loved F56 Mini JCW ( Readers cars thread). It's honestly a fantastic little hot hatch, although it took some money to get it as good as it should have been out of the factory, having fitted 17" OZ wheels and JCW Pro coilovers, and had it aligned. The car then drove how it should. Sweet handling and a firm, but good ride quality despite that it was lower than stock. It looks the danglies as well. However, I sold my NC1 MX5 Launch Edi
Mr Tidy said: As much as I liked throwing Mrs Tidy's Minis around (when she wasn't in them) any Mini is only ever going to feel like a warm/hot hatch. Sitting low down just in front of the rear wheels in an RWD car will always feel more like a sports car, so as a serial Z4 Coupe owner I can understand the appeal of this MX5. For the same reason I'd want an RF too, but IIRC the roof panel is fibreglass as the Mazda engineers vetoed metal for weight reasons! It'll be interesting to see how you get on with it. that was the issue, it's 'just' a hatchback at the end of the day. It was the same thing that prompted me to go from my R53 Cooper S to the Boxster realistically. Hot hatches are good fun, but ultimately FWD cars are a little one dimensional + the feeling of being pulled v's pushed.BlueJ said: I've come from a few good drivers' cars - FL5 Type R, F90 M5, 997.2 GTS - but the Mazda always pleasantly surprises me as it's simply great fun to drive despite not being that powerful or outright fast. They are great cars to hustle down a twisty road and they make you want to drive "properly" - carry momentum where visibility is good, use the gears and revs to make progress etc. - you can't simply rely on slug of turbo torque to make up for lazy driving.Indeed, that's what I was after. I did consider an FK8 funnily enough but really it's just another 2.0 Turbo FWD car, even quicker than my Mini was, and that wasn't interesting to me. To be honest, in a world of EVs that are seemingly quicker than most things on the road up to the NSL, I no longer really give a stuff about performance, only fun ray von said: Nice looking car. I recognise that tower in the last picture, should've said you were over this way, you could've had a look at my 30AE while I put you right about the football danb79 said: That looks superb TRD; a completely different animal to the Mini (do you miss it at all)?Even with my 5 stone weight loss with my health niggles; my height and width means I c

Where Maserati falls short is something like a suspension part on a Maserati 4200 that is nla.The availability or price of parts on a Maserati can quite rightly receive c

It was used in the Corolla GTi though.Yes I know it wasn't used in the Celica what I'm getting at is it would of upset the applecart. If it had a 4age in it. It would of been as quick, if not quicker than the Celica so why would anyone have spent double on buying a Celica every car has its place in a manufacturers line up. This was placed in the budget friendly coupe. Do you think putting the 1.6L 112bhp 4AGE engine in the Paseo would have made it quicker than the 2.0L 173bhp 3SGE engine mk6

I can't recall whether you've fitted lowering springs to the Corsa (or if the ecoFLEX model is fitted with them as standard), but aren't B8s for cars with lowering springs, whereas B6s are for standard springs?2. When various BMW guys on here fit Eibach lowering springs to their cars, they tend to fit B4S dampers as they've found B8s to be too firm.
