새로운 충격 흡수장치(KYB KG5551 Gas-a-Just Monotube Shock)의 너트를 과도하게 조여서 스레드가 완전히 손상됨. 더 이상 정규 너트를 받지 못하고, 보호 코팅이 벗겨져 생 금속 스레드만 남음.
처리 내용
손상된 스레드에 다이를 사용해서 새로운 스레드를 만드는 것은 권장하지 않음. 이유는 스레드가 이미 손상되었기 때문에 새 너트를 채우더라도 안전하지 않기 때문. 충격 흡수장치는 압축과 신장 양방향으로 작동하는데, 신장 시 너트가 스레드를 따라 미끄러질 수 있음. 스레드를 축소하는 것도 문제 해결 방법이 될 수 없음 - 더 얇은 스터드가 되어 파손 위험 증가. 새로운 스터드를 용접으로 부착하는 것도 충격 흡수장치 내부 부품을 손상시킬 수 있음. 결론적으로 이 충격 흡수장치는 복구 불가능한 상태로 판단됨.
