Dirknights said: Having just come back from 4 days in France over the bank holiday weekend.. they are hot little places to be!!! And I was amazed at how dusty they get inside after a day of driving! Enjoy your trip, slightly jealous!!!Yes incredibly hot! I have a little fan I keep and also wedge a little microfibre in the door which gives loads of airflow. You are also correct about dust and stones! Thanks I can't wait!
Right then Swiss Alps round 2 and everyone will hopefully be pleased to know the car came back under its own steam.Originally same 4 lads for this year as last but sadly on the day of departure one mates Clio Cup decided it wanted to stay at home. So sadly we were without Lloyd. That left two Caterhams and a Cayman R. Day One:- down to Epernay on the Wednesday evening, 180 miles that should be relatively straightforward but the weather was horrific. Car felt like it was floating. Stayed just by Avenue De Champagne which was quite a special place. At the Eurotunnel Moody skies you can see comingAnd on a little walk in the afternoon Day 2 - early start where we set off at 5:30am for the cruise down to Sedrun in the Swiss Alps, mileage about 365miles. Starting with some D roads and then onto a direct route. Stopped for some breakfast about 2 hours in. Then through the endless tunnels! We then stopped in Lucerne at the Ace Cafe, this was our last stop and we were really impressed, lovely food and super clean. Then we took the not so direct route up and over the Grimsel and Furka passes. Then arrived into our Airbnb for the next three nights. A beautiful place in Sedrun just at the top of the Oberlapp PassNot a bad view! And therein covers the arrival to the Alps.

Whilst scrolling through Facebook market place (please don't judge me!) I discovered this Riley 1.5, a car I know very little about and thought it had a charm about it that I liked. I kept scrolling but would see it popping up for about a week and a half.About a week into the occasional glance and some wishful thinking about the sort of car I would turn it into I showed Mrs. Jim. Normally she would roll her eyes and pat me on the head and tell me "ok", this time she said "why not go and have a look?" We turn up at this yard and it is stacked out in classic cars which just amazed me, they had
BMW X1
Been using an X1 all week, my eldests daily as he borrowed my Jaguar XJ for a trip up to Scotland.Didnt really relish the prospect as always thought it a bit of a boring lump but after a few days with it, I have to say I gelled with it.2.0 diesel Xdrive, goes ok but what impressed me was the ride and handling, was thinking would be a bit roly poly but I threw it about a bit and its amazingly competent and even, dare I say it, quite good fun. Plus its very practical and handles bumpy roads quite well.Did get me thinking that I would consider something like an X3 next, one with the 3.0 petrol, b
