Prevent (or significantly reduce) brake line rust
You've got two choices as I see it here to prevent (or significantly reduce) exterior brake line rust: Use stainless steel brake lines. This is a great option, but SS lines (and I'm not talking about braided lines here) is a lot harder to use than regular steel. It is more prone to splitting. The ends have to be treated differently due to this. SS will significantly reduce the amount of corrosion which would be seen on the brake lines, though. When replacing the brake lines, cover them with something like POR15 . This stuff bonds with, coats, and changes the metal making it impervious to rust. There are two caveats with this stuff, though. First, you cannot get it onto the fittings. if you do and then tighten it into the caliper or what have you, it will not come apart. It will weld the two pieces together, even worse than rust would do it. Secondly, it cannot be exposed to sunlight for a long period of time. If it is, it will degrade and allow for corrosion. This isn't a problem under

2012 Jeep Compav compass I noticed a persistent squealing coming from thr front end of my car (I think the front left). It happens when I have my foot on the accelerator and over 40-45 mph. It stops when I let my foot off the gas, and only occurs under load. This alone would take me to the engine, but it responds to me turning the wheel. It gets louder when turning right and quieter when left. It also stops when I let off gas. My original thought was brakes, but I wanted to see if the community had an idea. Thanks!

2004 Camry with about 160K miles (and I hope to drive it until the kids take away my keys in a few years). For the last month or two, sometimes when I’m slowing gently almost to a stop, I get what I think is ABS activation: loudish fast pulsing sound (roughly five pulses/sec; almost a vibration) that I can feel in the brake pedal. Maybe more likely on a slow speed turn while braking (I do a half-K turn to back into my driveway). Is that ABS? Does this require fast attention? Would my mechanic’s code readers be able to find any useful codes? (Or do I just report the symptom and let him/them inv

Hi everyone! I recently bought a 2016 Tacoma SR5 2.7L 4WD with 70k mi. At idle in D or R like at a red light (idles around 550rpm) the truck vibrates. Sometimes it’s bad and shakes my head and eyes and feels like someone is kicking my seat. It tends to get worse the longer I sit at a red light. It’s worse with the brake pedal pressed, but happens a bit in drive with the parking brake on and not pushing the brake pedal. There are tons of threads about this on the tacoma forums and there doesn’t seem to be “one” solution for everyone. I have cleaned the MAF and throttle body without much or any

I am here with another question Civic (european version) sedan 2010 80k miles. I have a situation which s been going on for long time and it only gets worse. Couple of mechanics seen it and i trust my guy however no solution: While driving downhill if you apply brakes, the car doesnt really shake strong until you press the pedal stronger but there is loud noise and brakes dont perform well. If you press the pedal tougher it will get super loud. This sound is hard to explain but what i can tell you is: when washing machine comes close to the end rolling like mad cow, sometimes machine starts to
