I actually liked these years back, and I thought they were a touch different and a nice alternative to the norm.
Mr Tidy said: I quite liked these back in the day not least because they were a bit different from the usual Golf, Focus, Civic, etc. alternatives. This looks like a really good example of a pretty rare car, but the price does seem optimistic. The £700+ a year Road Tax does it no favours either. Someone on Readers Cars had just bought an Arden Blue Astra VXR that looks like a better option! When chosing my company car in 2008 I had free choice as long as it was less than £515 per month (iirc) and I decided I'd like a hot hatch rather than the "standard" choice in the office of a 320d or similar. I thought a 3 MPS would be a nice option until I test drove one and found the interior a bit "meh" and the handling rather poor also. After trying Megane, Golf, A3, Volvo T5 and Focus (it was a 4 year lease so wanted to make sure I liked the car !) the short list for the Mk5 Golf GTi or a Focus ST and in the end I went for the Golf as 20% better fuel economy and hence 20% lower BIK tax plus a nicer interior In essence nothing has changed even with the MPS being 20 years old, still handicapped by indifferent interior, handling and cost (VED and fuel economy) and given the choice again I'd still shortlist the same 2 and I'd most likely still chose a Mk5 GTi which was and is (if in good nick) a great car

원문 보기 ↗Had 3 variations of these - an XKR, M3 evo and 944 S2. No real wish to revisit any of them. The XKR was fine in a straight line but the front wheels always felt a long way away in the bends, the M3 had a lovely engine but handling was only so so. S2 was probably the best but would feel really old now. Would love to own an SZ one day, though probably only for a little while. Lower mileage examples for for between £60K and £80K at auction. A nice one went for £65k at Iconics in Nov with only 17k miles. Seats on this one look a little tired. I imagine it is a nightmare to get spares....

Alpina in a heartbeat and for some inexplicable reason the Volvo Polestar.gets the second look. Some choice motors here and all of them have the practicality box ticked but that Alpina stands out for me. Oooo la la.

I acknowledge that I am OCD on my car and should chill, but really what is going on in the head of the driver who parked their car next to mine?My car is the MX5, it is 8 months old, has some stone chips on the front, every other panel is unmarked. When I parked the car yesterday at the gym the whole section of the car park was empty. When I came out this is what I found.

I think there’s also an element of people being scared. As a wider point people appear to want to follow rather than lead when driving. I wonder if consciously or subconsciously, when they enter a virtually empty car park, they struggle to make an independent decision. They wonder if they’re allowed to park there, so they see another car and think “I’ll park there, next to that car. They must know something or I can hide behind them if something bad happens.”To the wider point, I’m seeing a lot of people at traffic lights with two lanes waiting for the other driver to move before they do when

As others have said.A. You won't lose your NCD & even if you did you would be surprised how little difference it would actually make, it is not like you get 60% off or similar. Been there twice.B. The great majority of decent "approved" repairers will ask the question (or you can obviously) whether you need a car for the time the car is in for repair. They generally charge either nothing or just ask that you replace the fuel you use. Been there twice also obviously.
