I've just collected my new(-ish) car, this rather handsome Genesis G80 Electric:Please don't repost this on the bad parking thread, it was my very first go and I had no idea where the bonnet ended.I got the hang of parking it later.I'll start with the obvious questions:What's a Genesis? Hyundai's attempt at 'doing a Lexus', recognisable by their distinctive 'two horizontal lines' light signature. Their marketing strategy seems to be:1. Thanks for the kind words everyone, having no car over the weekend left me a lot of time to waffle on. I've gone back and tweaked the more glaring spelling mistakes and added a few picture captions.@rugbyleague the EQE 500 AMG is a mighty fine beast, and I can certainly see why people love them. The interior wasn't to my personal taste, but I'm well aware that I'm probably in the minority for preferring the quite traditionalist/dated Genesis interior over Mercedes opulent technology, Tesla's minimalism or Porsche's quiet technical excellence. I think the i3 interior (which I loved) trained me to like the open feel of a low dashboard top/bulkhead. Mercedes approach seems to be to insulate the driver from the outside world with a wall of screens. @hidetheelephants Thanks, I didn't fancy risking risk a drive-through within my first minute of driving the car, so I may never know!@jimmyjimjim 'oh my god he's smashed that car up so much I can't even recognise it!' I can see the Ioniq 9 being a big seller, it's a car that UK buyers actually have a need for, rather than one that makes more sense in other markets. I haven't worked out how/if the 6 seater Genesis GV80 is related.@fantheman80 if only my other half wasn't refusing to drive it! I am considering tinting the rear side windows which might make it look a bit more evil. Having driven the car home, here are some first impressions...I drove 114 almost entirely motorway miles home mostly with aircon on and cruise control set to do the national speed limit and used 33% of the battery charge, so the advertised 323 mile range doesn't seem overly optimistic, at least in yesterday's almost ideal climate conditions. It's remarkably close to full self-driving on the motorway when in intelligent cruise mode. It does of course demand a hand on the w
