Take the car for what it was meant to do in the time period it was made. The 6 cylinder Omega, Carlton, Senator, not to mention the Monza were all good cars. In my humble opinion if you want to see rubbish just go to any main dealer today.

Im not sure anyone ever crashed one. The demographic of owner would be sensible, middle aged blokes with nothing to prove. (Even when at bargain basement prices) I had a Y reg 3.2 MV6 bought for £525 in 2016 with 165k on the clock and sold in 2021 with 235k on the clock for £600. Despite being more "sporty" it was still a car to waft in. There was something about it that encouraged you to listen to Radio 3 and drive a little below the speed limit. There were 3 reasons I sold mine. Parts availability. The gearbox not liking hot weather and rust on the front inner wheel arches. I still miss it. I say it's an old man car like it's a bad thing because it absolutely was. They've certainly been crashed - I would know, I crashed my dad's pre-facelift Rembrandt Silver V6 CD in my youth... And unlike you, neither he nor I miss it. It was his third (and final) Vauxhall; he went VW after that and never looked back. His car, like this one for sale, also 'featured' a very unresponsive older AR25 auto transmission (this face-lifted car in the article would have the uprated AR35 version) with gear changes so slow they could be carbon dated; not only did it rob the car of power but if I remember correctly, the 0-60 time was about a second slower than the manual version. It would also occasionally "thump", lurching the car forward in first and second and had a habit of sometimes slipping out of gear when driving resulting in the engine "rev flaring". Utterly horrible thing. The reasons you give for selling are accurate and precisely why I do not care for them. Any car with a gearbox like what I experienced is something I would immediately reject today as badly engineered and a potential safety hazard, yet people on here would put up with that nonsense, convincing themselves it's a good thing by calling it

Quite like that. Seems good condition & obvious curio out of all the hatches of the time.Treat it like a mini exotic GT car rather than a Type R rival & I recckon it fits the brief.Price wise given the scarcity of these is about correct for the right enthusiast. Should get some money off as well I would argue.

You may have read my post previously about the Overland Yeti / subsequent Yeti TSI conversion which appears to have inspired a couple of PHers so far to head to Morocco, which is great! it has been awesome reading of poppopbangbang's Cayenne adventure and CA with his L405.https://www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?h=0&...Well anyone that read the original thread will know that things didn't go completely to plan and ultimately we were let down by road car build quality which just isn't that suitable to the trials and tribulations of overland action (at least not at the hands of amateurs, an
