Did Leno buy any of the GMA models?
Flemke (and other F1 owners past or present),can you talk about car insurance......Perhaps not the sexiest question ever asked on here but the resent talk of owners driving their cars, or more likely not driving them made me think. Now these cars have made it into the realm of 250GTO, 330P4, Bugatti Royale, Le Mans winning C/D types and alike the cars are now un scrapable. Case in point 061is the most well known but I think its also known of more than a few others having had considerable "events" ,"corrected" as the value of the car is greater then the repair value. To my understanding the only thing that could write off an F1 these days is damage so severe to the tub that a repair would be unsafe. I'm not saying the tub couldn't be "fixed up" to look ok but the repair would not be structurally sound as is the case with XJR14 791 which now is a display only car. Now that there are no more replacement tubs left (Yes McLaren made more tubs then chassis plates....but not that many more) significant tub damage should kill an F1 but nothing else could (happy to be corrected here if anyone knows of anything else, I'm not sure how many S70/2 are left). All that is to say...what's the risk of driving one? If the insurance cant scrap it and even crash history (to my knowledge at least 35 F1 have had some sort of crash) or high miles don't significantly effect the market, see 10R and your very own "oh sorry mate, with that many miles Im gonna have to offer you a lot less then you think its worth mate" 040. So if the car is unaffected by miles, was in a crash and the insurance cant write it off why are people not driving them? There could be personal reasons (no time, health etc) but the root of my question is as stated at the start, are there insurance clauses that stop owners? Will an insurance company agree to cover such an expensive "asset" only if "It never leaves home", "It only goes 20 miles, under the cover of night whilst protected by the SAS".Can you (and others) giv

Quite like that. Seems good condition & obvious curio out of all the hatches of the time.Treat it like a mini exotic GT car rather than a Type R rival & I recckon it fits the brief.Price wise given the scarcity of these is about correct for the right enthusiast. Should get some money off as well I would argue.

You may have read my post previously about the Overland Yeti / subsequent Yeti TSI conversion which appears to have inspired a couple of PHers so far to head to Morocco, which is great! it has been awesome reading of poppopbangbang's Cayenne adventure and CA with his L405.https://www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?h=0&...Well anyone that read the original thread will know that things didn't go completely to plan and ultimately we were let down by road car build quality which just isn't that suitable to the trials and tribulations of overland action (at least not at the hands of amateurs, an
