croyde said: Out of interest is a 40kw battery physically bigger, by a lot, than a 27kw. I have a 1.2kw battery in my Bigster Hybrid and I was surprised how big that is, when I saw a diagram, and it takes a bit of space up in the boot compared to the Mild Hybrid version. It’s going to be roughly 1.5 times bigger. Capacity is measured in kWh (kW hours) not kW which is a measure of power only.

But I'm afraid these 'new' versions all scream emperor's new clothes to me. These are not groundbreaking designs. Slap a smiley face on a generic box design to give it a link to a companies cultural heritage and everyone is swooning? Where are the real innovative designs that are allowed by the EV set up. Imagine a proper utilitarian Twingo, Panda, 2cv, 4, whatever, all flat floors and airy space, light, lolloping ride. Don't get me wrong, I like le regies latest offerings but can't help feel there is an opportunity missed hereI think the public, many of whom have no interest in technology, will like the new clothes. The latest small Renaults are pretty and chic ( poster said smiley face .). Punters will buy that; just look at the massive success of the pretty Fiat 500 which is not at all innovative, especially with the reliable FIRE engine, and the more useful but still cute Panda third series. We need to remember all the threads on PH complaining about bloated and ugly new cars. The Fiats used as examples are also classless.I actually like the Fiat and the older Pandas. I'd argue they WERE innovative offering both old tech four pots, cutting edge twin airs and super frugal diesels. The 500 is a design for which familiarity has bred contempt and it is hard to remember the universal accolades it recieved and the stir it caused on the street. I'd argue it isn't just classless but sexless, a man or a woman could buy a 500 in any of its myriad flavours. The panda had ultra utlitarian spec versions, 4x4s, genuinely capable cross models and stayed faithful to the original pandas utilitarian chic, Guigario's favourite design, and one of mine!! These new Renaults are just a smiley face on a generic box and yes, punters will lap that up as you say, but I genuinely feel we are standing on the penalty spot in fro

The battery within that car is owned by the lender and forms an integral part of the collateral for that debt. Ach, no. You could say the same about any other part of the car - engine, gearbox, carpets, seat bolsters, whatever - and batteries look like being a lot longer lasting than many of the things in a car that many people can comprehensively ruin within three years. You don't get any lease company saying you can't smoke in your car, be 30st, or no

Useful update and great you're enjoying itMany will tell you to get the gearbox serviced, my zf8 is on easy motorway 160k and not bothered, and the car will soon depart so I don't care My sos battery went at 5 yrs so to save a trip to the garage and an annoying warning I'd get that done, tpms sensors last 5-7 years in my experience so could be good preventative measure
