To answer the headline question "Are there too many retro EVs?" no, not until Stellantis commissions a Delta S4-E Stradale.

Those that were distinctive have mostly already had their identities stolen to adorn crappy crossovers. I guess they could create a retro reinterpretation of the original Ka, that was pretty distinctive but whilst it was nice to drive I don't think it was particularly loved. Maybe you could make a mk1 Escort remake look distinctive enough to work? Edited by kambites on Friday 16th October 11:25 Is the Mk1 Escort the right sort of iconic and cool, though? How much cachet and value does it have among the general public? It's beloved by Ford fans and classic rallying/motorsport enthusiasts, and you can find plenty of RWD Escorts still razzing around forest tracks on a weekend. But does it have the same cool, youthful, carefree, populist quirkiness of a Fiat 500, a Mini or a 2CV? Or an recognisable retro shape like a Renault 5? In period the Escort wasn't really about Mexicos and Twin Cams, it was about your mum's 1300L or your manager's Ghia. They were popular but humdrum, and pretty much the definition of 'generic three-box mass-market saloon car'. The R5 is all 70s trapezoid and sharp edges and unique rear lights, with little whimsical touches like the baguette holder. The E-T16 concept is all Group B and 80s red trimming and wide arches. The Citroen 2CV concept is all about sunny, care-free, simple adventures.Does the Escort hit any of those button? Not really. I think the Capri was Ford's big (and utterly wasted) opportunity to do a really good retro reimagining of 'The Car You Always Promised Yourself' - something that looked like an upmarket sports coupe but was achingly accessible and full of customisation/personalisation opportunities. They could have stolen a lead and really opened up the idea of an EV that people actually, positively desired to the mass market, which should frankl

I do remember the engines in the cooper of the R56 generation (N12 I think it was), being a bit gutless. I was given a convertible one about 15 years ago as a courtesy car and with 4 passengers, performance was somewhat stunted..Either way, I'm still following with interest as you always have interesting RR threads! Thanks. It’s not particularly fast, but that’s fine. I’m not sure I’ll actually drive it much anyway because my wife has her eyes on it, so I’ll take one for the team and

In a multi story that I was using earlier this evening, the MOT ran out in May 24. I do find the car park ones odd, I've seen other seemingly abandoned cars in other car parks, I'd love to know the reasons.
포르쉐 카이엔
A somewhat unbalanced duo which is acknowledged from the start in this head to head. I would never put these two on the same page and i found myself unpicking the Porsche rather than comparing it to the Morgan. Despite the indifferences the 911 wins out.

I got the make and basic model in three - not Cardle's answer though. Ironically I intended to type in Challenger but ended up typing Charger for some reason - so I got it right by default!

If its styling fuses a little 6GT with a little 720S, I can't see it going far wrong.Building an SUV is a sad but perhaps necessary evil. Performance manufacturers should really look at a different set of priorities to luxury marques. A McLaren, Ferrari, Lambo, Porsche, or even Bentley SUV should be something that could conceivably win a race. Make the body low and wide, and if it has to be jacked up, make it jacked up for sand dunes and mud pits, not Kensington kerbs and speedbumps. Most importantly, make it weigh less! Else there's no S about it, it's just a big fat squishy UV.
