증상
터보차저 2L 엔진에 3인치 직통 배기 시스템이 장착되어 있으며, 매우 크고 저주파 드론음이 발생함. 케이블식 인라인 버터플라이 밸브를 테스트 파이프와 미드파이프 사이에 설치했으나, 완전히 닫혔을 때도 운전 가능하도록 구멍을 뚫어야 함. 최적의 음량 감소를 위해 작은 구멍 여러 개를 뚫 것인지, 아니면 큰 구멍 하나를 뚫 것인지 결정 필요.
처리 내용
일반적으로 배기 밸브가 있는 자동차는 2개의 배기 경로를 가지고 있음: 하나는 소음기를 통하고 다른 하나는 우회함. 밸브가 이 우회 경로를 열고 닫음. 두 밸브 위치 모두에서 배기가스가 자유롭게 흐름. 단순히 기존 배기 시스템에 밸브를 설치하면 소음이 감소하지 않음: 가스가 여전히 동일한 미처리 파이프를 통해 흐름. 밸브를 닫으면 백프레셔가 증가하여 엔진 효율이 떨어지고, 반개방된 밸브 주변의 난기류로 인해 소음이 증가함. 대신 스톡 소음기를 사용하여 2번째 배기 경로를 만들어야 함. 스톡 소음기가 분기되는 지점 바로 다운스트림의 직통 파이프에 밸브를 배치함. 밸브 닫음: 배기가 소음기를 통해 흐름. 밸브 열림: 배기가 둘 다 통해 흐르되, 저항이 적으므로 직통 시스템을 통해 대부분 흐름.
