I took my car (Mk1 Golf/Rabbit Cabriolet) to get new front struts and new strut mounts kits installed. When I got it back, the steering and suspension certainly felt better, but the steering wheel is now on an angle. I can't imagine any reason why the tie rods would be tampered with during this process, but I am not a professional. Could this just be the result of replacing the strut mounts and strut mounts bearings, causing the wheels to be better aligned?
The alignment of your front end is affected by much more than just the tie rod ends. The camber especially would be affected by changing the struts. Camber is the amount of lean in or out the top of the tire has. The following image describes it pretty well: And as you can see from the image, the process of changing the struts, could change the camber if things are not put back correctly. Before you end up wearing an odd pattern into your front tires I would suggest having the front end aligned. Additionally, toe or caster may have been changed. This diagrams below show what each are. If the toe is off you could easily be driving down the road straight, but the wheel is off center. But, it sounds like the work was done by a shop. Did they align the front end after doing the suspension work? If they did, it's not unusual for your steering wheel to no longer be perfectly straight even though the car is driving straight down the road. If the did an alignment, your fine, and this is annoyi

Hi, friends. Anyone know which of the two hoses on the power steering reservoir is the return line? I need to change the fluid in my 94 Camry with the 2.2 l. Alternatively, is there an easy way to differentiate between return and suction?

Any chance someone can tell me whatโs going wrong here. Iโm used a titan 3/16 double flaring tool and nicopp. It keeps giving me this weird stepped flare. Iโm not sure what to call this issue so I didnโt know what to look up. Iโm doing my best to get a square cut, then I chamfer the outside with a file and chamfer the inside with a utility knife until thereโs no burrs. Iโm sort of worried that the screwing motion of the tool is messing with it somehow and instead I need a press tool. Whatโs weird is I did get one sort of good flare but couldnโt replicate it. Itโs also made a few good flares us

Does anyone here have experience with Front Steering and Suspension kits for older cars? [1] Iโm helping a friend get a 1966 Mustang he inherited back up and running. The body is in nice condition. Heโs looking at it as something to drive around locally, and not as a daily driver or for long trips. We got it running and itโs now registered. His front suspension is sloppy and loose, and has more steering play than it should, (even after tightening the steering box adj screw). The car is 1.5 hrs away from me, and weโre doing the work on his garage floor. We work on the car about twice a year. He
