I probably look at it too basically really, but I can always feel the weight of a car though, and I can't understand why a 2000kg car for example(whether it is electric or ICE) would feel any different under braking and in the corners that's all. I understand all the placement of stuff don't get me wrong, but surely physics is physics though? If you ran into a wall in either a 2000kg ICE car or a 2000kg electric one...then surely you're

As a means of transport, for most people, most of the time, an electric drivetrain is simply "better"... but simplicity and efficiency aren't... well, they're not very interesting. For me the difference between an ICE, especially a crude classic ICE, and an EV is much the same as the difference between a steam train and a modern diesel-electric locomotive. The steam train is utterly ridiculous from a practical standpoint and I wouldn't want to rely on one to get me to work; but given the chance to have a go at driving one, it would be the steam train every time!Realistically, we will never have another ICE family car, but I still can't see myself ever choosing an EV as a toy. Although having said that, I can't see myself ever choosing a modern ICE car as a toy either. Edited by kambites on Friday 25th September 22:38 There lies the interesting divide for the Porsche brand. Use the car for the purpose of general transport, the daily commute, the shopping run, trundling round town etc and then he EV version makes sense. Want to keep the car in a garage and use it as the antidote to the modern working week then the grotesque and archaic inefficiency of the ICE becomes too appealing to sacrifice. Two different kinds of sports car for two different purposes. And the suspicion being that the majority of Porsches are used for the former as they're well made, reliable, practical and fun ways to complete the dull chore journeys.

If its styling fuses a little 6GT with a little 720S, I can't see it going far wrong.Building an SUV is a sad but perhaps necessary evil. Performance manufacturers should really look at a different set of priorities to luxury marques. A McLaren, Ferrari, Lambo, Porsche, or even Bentley SUV should be something that could conceivably win a race. Make the body low and wide, and if it has to be jacked up, make it jacked up for sand dunes and mud pits, not Kensington kerbs and speedbumps. Most importantly, make it weigh less! Else there's no S about it, it's just a big fat squishy UV.
Writing the title made me wonder how many rear engined coupes have existed. I got 911 (obviously), some Alpines, Delorean, Fiat / Abarth versions of the 850. There must be more. But this is none of those. Its Japanese, made in the '80s and sold here in reasonable numbers. But they are now firmly in the category of 'rare but nobody gives a st'. And only a handful remain. It's a car I've had a yearning to own and got outbid on one at auction many years ago. More recently I contacted a seller on FB, we agreed a price and then he blocked me...So I broke the first rule of car buying and bought one s

However, quickly arrive behind a snail-moving vehicle. Country lane, but quite wide and easy to make progress. Except we have the brake lights in front sending out Morse Code signals; applies them for almost everything (or imagined). Next, traffic lights, stops, and then turns left, no signal, and snail acceleration; we've still got the Morse Code signals going. We proceed like this, at about half the speed the road is capable of, for about

(Had something very similar just 30 minutes ago - row of parked cars my side, car in front waiting for oncoming traffic, but I hung back ~1.5 to 2 car lengths just to give me some wiggle room, sitting with my brake lights on and at least 2ft from the kerb. Dumbfk in a new Volvo comes steaming up past me before looking past the end of his nose and seeing that there's a car coming
