My old Fiat X1/9 was like that. So was an Elise I tried. It’s a mid engine trait.
s m said: Ah I think you misunderstood me - what I meant was that the original F ( as per this Shed in the article ) would have been up against a Mk2 MR2 for much of its lifetime rather than the MGTF in the article which was put up against the later Mk3 MR2My brother had the MGF I had the MK2 MR2. I preferred the Toyota but mechanically they are a little fragile compared with the Rover. The Toyota felt more grown up but didn't have the agility of the MG, probably due to the extra weight and cheaper suspension system (struts). On a twisty, bumpy B road the MR2 wouldn't see which way the MG went, on smooth roads they were much closer. My TF replaced the MR2, from a chassis point of view it was a significant upgrade. I had been looking at air cooled 911s but at the time they ranged from £7 to £17k and trying to tell a tarted up cheap car from a genuinely good one was getting disheartening (I wish I'd persevered considering what they go for now).I bought the MG very cheaply (£4500 for a 4 year old 2004 car with 34,000 miles) as a stop gap and kept it.

It was amazing and I will probably miss it slightly for the roads on my doorstep but.... I've owned an Elise before a beautiful 111s S1 but it was so raw with the short gearing it made the Caterham feel easier for euro trips. You may have read my post previously about the Overland Yeti / subsequent Yeti TSI conversion which appears to have inspired a couple of PHers so far to head to Morocco, which is great! it has been awesome reading of poppopbangbang's Cayenne adventure and CA with his L405.https://www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?h=0&...Well anyone that read the original thread will know that things didn't go completely to plan and ultimately we were let down by road car build quality which just isn't that suitable to the trials and tribulations of overland action (at least not at the hands of amateurs, an

Quite like that. Seems good condition & obvious curio out of all the hatches of the time.Treat it like a mini exotic GT car rather than a Type R rival & I recckon it fits the brief.Price wise given the scarcity of these is about correct for the right enthusiast. Should get some money off as well I would argue.
