I have a supercharged Mustang with 460hp and that is perfectly good for what it is though 500 would be nice.I had a Mountune Fiesta ST 215hp Mk 7 and that was just about ideal for a daily car. I now have a Maxda MX5 RF with 182 hp and it is fine but could use a turbo. My Fiat Panda has 54hp and its a hoot to drive but could probably use about 80.
BEAMS 162 said: 1c4d9244-262e-41eb-8bf5-10160fab26d9.jpeg by D Sherv, on FlickrThis modified Celica of mine is N/A with a BEAMS Redtop engine and a light flywheel and blah blah, but its 'only' around 200bhp.But for the driving I do,odd hillclimb up Prescott and mostly weekend B road fun its perfect for me,it doesn't need loads more BHP. Horses for courses,if you want an autobahn stormer then this isn't really it!But this car is all about the package.Probably the most important thing is its balance,it has better brakes, uprated adjustable suspension ,LSD and is set up and corner weighted for me .And its pretty light too. Handling is more of a point for me than outright grunt, you can drive this car near its 'limit', when appropriate, and you feel so much more alive with the car than ultimate power. High revving N/A car with a strong midrange, kind of a sweet spot. Not averse to big power cars at all,I've owned a couple of ST205 GT4's in the past with differing power outputs, but you need to be able to use most of that power to really appreciate it.I guess for me anything north of 350 bhp on our crappyish roads is a bit of a waste sometimes.Though I'd be lying to say the sheer punch from a bigger power car isn't addictive! So I do get why people can fall into the 'number chasing' thing.Edited by BEAMS 162 on Saturday 15th August 14:32Edited by BEAMS 162 on Saturday 15th August 14:33 Oh man, that is a dream car for sure! My first car was an ST162, I loved it so much Regarding the topic, I dearly love my GT86, but it could do with a little more power for single carriageway over takes. My Cerbera has all the power I've ever needed, and yet, it's not much really compared to newer stuff. I think auto/day make it too easy, EV even more so?Edited by DuncanM on Saturday 15th August 19:37

Quite like that. Seems good condition & obvious curio out of all the hatches of the time.Treat it like a mini exotic GT car rather than a Type R rival & I recckon it fits the brief.Price wise given the scarcity of these is about correct for the right enthusiast. Should get some money off as well I would argue.

You may have read my post previously about the Overland Yeti / subsequent Yeti TSI conversion which appears to have inspired a couple of PHers so far to head to Morocco, which is great! it has been awesome reading of poppopbangbang's Cayenne adventure and CA with his L405.https://www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?h=0&...Well anyone that read the original thread will know that things didn't go completely to plan and ultimately we were let down by road car build quality which just isn't that suitable to the trials and tribulations of overland action (at least not at the hands of amateurs, an
