증상

AC 컴프레서 고장으로 인해 다른 부품이 손상될 가능성은 매우 낮음. 클러치가 고착되고 컴프레서도 함께 고착되는 경우에만 벨트가 타거나 다른 부품이 손상될 수 있음. 엔진이 정상 작동하고 이상한 소음이 없다면 큰 문제는 없음. AC가 작동하지 않으면 컴프레서는 구동되지 않고 클러치는 유휴 풀리처럼 작동하여 서펜타인 벨트의 방향만 바꿈. AC를 사용하지 않을 때와 같은 수준의 마모만 발생함. 한 가지 고려사항: AC는 제상 시스템의 일부로서 겨울철 제습 기능을 제공하므로 차량 내부 호흡으로 인한 결로로 인해 앞유리가 얼어붙는 것을 방지함. 거주 지역의 기후에 따라 이 기능이 중요할 수 있음.

re. the refrigerant - If you take the car to Quik-Fit they will empty the system for free (probably best to ring first to check but I've done it on a few cars..). This is actually a requirement if you work on the AC system of a car as the gas is pretty nasty for you and the environment.Once that's done it's pretty simple, just nuts n bolts but do fit a replacement drier though if you're opening the system up.
