Crazy stuff (to me, and others probably) again.I hear what you say about the breaking of cars less in demand. I've been looking for Birds Eye Maple trim for the C55 for a year without luck. I found a car recently on eBay which was for sale for £650 without an MOT - the seller wouldn't sell me the trim. He then sold the car to a breaker and gave me his number. The photos I was sent after asking the breajer for the trim showed the windows smashed, the trim covered in glads, and the house open to the elements!

QuickheatThe heated steering wheel retrofit really impressed me: on a frosty morning the wheel is warm to the touch in 20 seconds, and hot within 40. Not bad at all! I must admit that I'd always viewed such a thing as a complete gimmick, so this spurred me on to investigate other comfort options.Next on the list was an electric auxiliary heating system that I'd discovered on the options list in Russia and northern Europe. The system is called 'Quickheat' and it is interesting because its operation is completely transparent to the driver.I couldn't locate factory documentation on its operation, but from what I could gather it acts as an infill to the cabin heating system during the period when the engine is warming up to operating temperature. It's a four stage system comprised of three elements. Integration with the existing wiring is straight-forward and the system is comprised of:- Heater element- Relay pack- Wiring loom- ModuleThe system contains a control module that performs all of the heavy lifting: it connects over the low-speed CAN bus to the body control module (BCM), which acts as a gateway to the other busses in the car for access to sensors such as exterior & engine coolant temp. There is a built-in battery protection strategy that monitors alternator output and battery voltage.
