Hi AllI have an insurance question.I am in the process of selling my Campervan, the insurance expires on the 31st.I am naturally hoping to sell it before then, but if I don t then I may need say another 2 weeks at worst case scenario.On insurance do you have a 2 week cancellation clause, upon taking a policy out?I don t want to renew for another year, but I know most companies when they got hold of your money they unlikely to give it back.Any ideas?Thanks Edited by Nesty1760 on Saturday 18th July 12:55

The naysayer posts on this topic remind me of similar in the early EV days.Whether it will become a thing or not will depend on whether some big players see potential commercial viability - and some are clearly hedging their bets.A tiny minority of supercar owners isn't going to support the industry but billions who can continue to run their existing vehicles as opposed to leasing overpriced white goods might.

We have family visiting from overseas and I've managed to drive into their rental car whilst getting off my driveway this morning Damage is to their driver's door, a shallow crease about 20cm long, the scuffs have all polished out. Car is a slightly tatty 72-plate MG and there are a few dings and scrapes in other places. I'm not really sure how best to proceed, they are planning to take it back and plead ignorance / hope it isn't noticed (they have it for a few more weeks). I think their excess is mega but assume if the damage is spotted they will only be charged for the amount of the repair?

There is a thread on the chemical composition of PTFE tape (Teflon tape) here: Master cylinder leak but my question is, will PTFE tape stand up to the heat generated by front disc brakes? Or, will the heat generated melt it and just make a messy goop that no longer really seals? 2015 혼다 CR-V가 완만한 경사에서 떨림 현상 발생 후 시동 불가 상태. 경고등 점등 중. OBD 스캔 결과 P0087 코드 표시. 장시간 오일 누유 확인 (커버 가스켓 의심).

1994 지프 그랜드 체로키 브레이크 문제 발생. 지난 2년간 거의 모든 브레이크 부품 교체: 프론트 브레이크(디스크): - 2012년 4월: 패드, 로터 전체 교체 - 2011년 중반: 드라이버측 캘리퍼 교체 - 2010년 중반: 승객측 캘리퍼 교체 리어 브레이크(드럼): - 2012년 4월: 양쪽 슈 교체 - 2011년 초: 양쪽 드럼 교체 2012년 4월 수리 완료 후 초기에는 브레이크 문제 해결되었으나 현재 유사한 증상 재발생

크랭크 문제로 인해 무료로 획득한 2015년식 쉐보레 350 엔진. 200마일만 주행한 엔진을 분해 완료. 피스톤 링을 교체해야 하는지, 기존 링을 그대로 사용 가능한지 확인 필요. 압축 손실 우려.

브레이크 패드 교환

주차 후 차를 잠갔는데(창문은 닫혀있었음) 돌아왔을 때 차는 여전히 잠겨있었지만 앞쪽 창문이 내려가 있었음. 강제 진입 흔적 없음. 시동 걸 때 좌측 후미등 경고등 발생했으나 모든 후미등(브레이크등, 방향지시등 포함)은 정상 작동. 5분 후 경고등 사라짐.

섬프 커버에 큰 구멍이 있어서 교체해야 함. 엔진을 들어올리지 않고 자동차 아래에서 커버를 제거할 수 있는지 확인 필요

1996 Lincoln Continental 후륜 에어백이 서서히 새는 증상 - 밤새 압력 저하, 시동 후 약 20초 동안 에어백 충전, Check Ride Control 경고등 간헐적 점등. 범프 통과 시 짧은 고압 공기 배출음 청취. 컴프레서는 하루 종일 거의 작동하지 않음.

배터리 교환

1998 현대 티뷰론에서 배터리 경고등이 켜짐. 그 다음날 헤드라이트를 켠 채로 두어 배터리가 방전됨. 점프 스타트 시도했으나 작동 안 함. 배터리를 충전하고 테스트했을 때 정상으로 나옴. 배터리를 다시 장착했으나 여전히 작동 안 함. 실내등은 켜지고 키를 꽂을 때 도어가 열려있으면 딩 소리남. 해저드 라이트는 작동하지만 헤드라이트, 대시 라이트, 라디오는 작동 안 함. 시동 걸 때 소음 없음. 배터리 케이블이 약간 느슨해진 상태 발견. 느슨한 연결이 원인일 수 있음.

타이어에서 이상한 와이어가 튀어나와 있습니다. 와이어의 한쪽 끝이 타이어에 박혀있고, 몇 개를 뽑으려다 손가락에 찔렸습니다. 타이어 중앙과 다른 부분은 트레드가 많이 남아있지만, 타이어 외부 트레드 안쪽에 작은 균열이 많이 보입니다.

엔진 시동 후 약간의 연기가 나오다가 금방 없어짐. 따뜻한 엔진 상태에서 내리막길 유휴 주행 중 많은 양의 파란색 연기 발생. 문제가 즉시 나타나지 않으면 주차 상태에서 엔진을 고회전시키면 빠르게 나타남. 냉간 엔진 상태에서 오르막길에서는 의도적으로 시도해도 연기가 발생하지 않음. 연기는 엔진 오일 연소로 인한 것으로 판단됨.

4G63 미쓰비시 L3 밴 가솔린 엔진의 부분 오버홀 계획 중이며, 구형 엔진이므로 Shell Rotella 15w-40 디젤 엔진오일로 교체하려고 함

1996 Honda Accord(수동)이 시동 시 특히 빗온 직후에 심하게 헛기침을 함. 몇 개월 전부터 발생했으며 최근 점검에서 문제가 발견되지 않음. 시동 시에 키를 돌리는 동안 심한 스터터링 소음 발생. 가스를 펌프하면서 키를 돌려야 시동이 걸림. RPM이 급상승하다가 정상화됨. 시동까지 1분에서 20분 소요. 매번 발생하지는 않으며 대부분의 경우 시동이 잘 걸림. 특히 빗온 후에 문제 발생.

DIY 자동차 정비를 시작하면서 홈 밸런싱을 위해 버블 밸런서(bubble balancer) 사용을 고려 중입니다. 이 도구의 정확도는 어느 정도인지, 실제로 사용하는 사람들의 경험이 궁금합니다.
