체크 엔진 라이트를 리셋하기 위해 배터리 음극 터미널을 분리했다가 다시 연결한 후 시동이 걸리지 않음. 가끔 크랭크할 때 몇 초간 딸깍거리는 소리가 나다가 멈춤. 대부분의 경우 엔진음이 전혀 나지 않음. 계기판 경고등과 헤드라이트는 밝게 켜지고 라디오도 작동함. 크랭크할 때 가끔 딸깍거리는 소리 외에는 연료펌프로 추측되는 '쉭' 하는 소리만 들림.

냉각수 교환

1997 Toyota Corolla가 시동이 안 걸리는 문제 발생. 1-2일 운전하지 않으면 시동이 걸리지 않음. 시동을 걸 때 스티어링 휠을 좌우로 1/4 정도 꺾으면서(12시에서 9시 방향으로) 키를 돌려야 시동이 걸림. 엔진오일, 오일필터 신규 교환, 오일량 정상. 배터리는 수년 된 것으로 양호 상태, 수액 보충함. 파워스티어링 오일도 양호할 것으로 예상. 원래 달려있는 펌프 사용 중. 냉각수 확인 중.

2008 Scion tC - 운전 거리가 크게 줄어들었고(버스 출퇴근으로 변경), 현재 권장 오일 교환 주기인 5,000마일 또는 5개월 중 어느 것이 먼저 도래하는 때에 교환해야 함. 합성유로 교환하면 5,000마일만 기준으로 삼고 5개월 제한을 무시해도 되는지 궁금함.

1년에 걸쳐 이전 오일 교환에서 남은 Mobil 1 풀 신스 0W 40 엔진오일 4리터가 쌓여있음. 이 오일을 사용해도 되는지 확인 필요

엔진오일 교환

2000년식 혼다 시빅을 Castrol 정비소에서 오일 교환 후 다음날 차량 주차 위치에 3피트 너비의 오일 웅덩이 발견. 이전에는 오일 누수가 없었음. 정비소에서는 엔진 오일팬 개스킷 교체($200)가 필요하다고 주장. 거절 후 귀가했는데 또 다시 3피트 오일 웅덩이 발생.

2013년식 F-150 5.0L 엔진에서 디젤음 발생. 부하 상태에서 구형 디젤 엔진처럼 들리는 노킹음 발생.

Hello everyone.I keep seeing ad's on TV about compensation for anyone who owned or leased a diesel engined car between 2007 and 2021. I'm guessing this is something similar to PPI?My question is, has anyone had any experience of these claims and if so, what? Have you been successful? Any recommendations about how to go about claiming? Any other advice/comments?

I know this is a pointless rant but I am beginning to feel as though I am the only sane person to drive on the roads in Oxfordshire and wanted to see if I was alone in this observation.In the good old days (I'm 39) most people would drive at a sensible speed. Every now and again you would meet a little old lady driving at 40mph but in general that was the exception rather than the norm. Fast forward to today and the norm is for me to be stuck behind people (of all ages, sex, race, and weight... before anybody tries to go there) doing 30mph in a well sighted 50 or 60. Given the comparitive records of the two manufacturers since then - PureTech Vs B Series engines - I think we can safely blame Peugeot for the Prince engine debacle.

Lots of people have joined solicitors firms to chase compo from manu for emission cheating. Some had cutoff some still open. No idea how much if any compo, or when likely, but very very unlikely to be anywhere near 9k.

I saw one of those Toyota WiLL things the other day. I was driving, so luckily I was unable to take a photo. It was the first time I’ve seen one in the UK; hopefully it will be the last.

I was talking to a friend who holds an HGV licence but only to move his horses about. Has owned nice cars.He was asking about my motorbike and he said “are you one of those annoying riders who overtake in traffic jams” I asked if he meant filtering, he said yes and then said “I always try to block them”. I asked why he did that as he couldn’t go where I go and it is totally legal. He didn’t even have a reply.
