증상
우측 프론트 휠에서 긁히거나 마찰하는 이상한 소음 발생. 브레이크를 밟거나 안 밟거나 관계없이 계속 들림. 저속 주행 시 저음역대의 거칠고 갈리는 소리, 일반 주행 속도에서는 높은 음역대의 알아채기 어려운 소음. 역주행 시에는 소음이 덜함. 프론트 브레이크와 로터 교체했음에도 여전히 소음 지속. 브레이크 패드는 양쪽 모두 골고루 마모되어 있고 캘리퍼가 정상 작동하는 것으로 보임. 로터는 상태가 양호하지만 약간 휘어있을 수 있음.
처리 내용
우측 프론트 휠 허브 베어링 불량으로 진단됨. 베어링 내륜이 외륜 주위에서 흔들리면서 발생하는 전형적인 우웅우웅 소음 패턴. 안전상 문제이므로 즉시 교체 필요. CV 부츠 손상 여부도 확인 필요 — 파손된 CV 부츠가 오염된 그리스(흙과 그리스 혼합물 - 유동 사포 같은 역할)를 베어링으로 흘려보낼 수 있음.

눈길에서 ABS가 작동한 후 브레이크 페달이 약 75% 내려가 오랫동안 내려간 상태로 유지되다가 서서히 정상으로 돌아옴. ABS가 다시 작동하면 페달이 또 내려감. 최근에는 2주일 동안 페달이 정상으로 돌아오지 않음. 브레이크 성능 자체는 정상이나 페달 높이가 매우 낮음. 한 번 에어를 빼냈고 6개월 전에 패드와 로터를 교체함.

브레이크를 밟을 때와 주차 상태에서 엔진이 켜져 있을 때 딱딱거리는 음이 난다. 후륜 로터, 패드, 우측 후륜 캘리퍼를 교체했지만 소음이 계속된다.
포드 익스플로러
2011 Ford Explorer 앞 브레이크에서 클릭음 발생 및 제동 시 그라인딩음 발생. 로터(앞)와 패드를 2회 교체했으나 동일한 증상 지속.
포드 레인저
2008 포드 레인저 앞 브레이크가 심하게 걸림. 특히 고속도로에서 급제동할 때 심함. 로터와 패드 교체 후 한 달간 정상이었다가 다시 발생. 로터 연마 후에도 반복됨.
