Another one! Will follow again with immense interest. The attention to detail you have, I find very inspiring.

It has good weight distribution with a bit of rear bias (so it won't naturally nose over on a jump), it has good fuel capacity for its size (64L as standard), the underside is pretty much flat so getting some protection onto it is fairly straight forward, it has really good hard points front and rear that go straight into the chassis rails so great for mounting tubular bumpers to, there are lots of gear ratio options without spending big money (as the 012 gearbox was in everything VAG for a decade), the suspension kinematics are pretty good for a big lift, it has a decent ROPS as standard etc. etc. No big turbo four to start with, it's the 30th anniversary of Boxster in 2027 so it feels only right to run with an M96 in the back, plus NA and a wide torque curve / no boost threshold really suits this sort of competition. Plus I'm not sure I could cool it..... but with that said I had a meeting with a couple of extremely good aerodynamicists today who have given the rad concept the green light with a few basic tweeks so I just need to get it into CAD properly now to run some CFD optimisation and see where the cooling limit is! After the first rally it'd be rude not to "up engine" to suit the cooling available

If its styling fuses a little 6GT with a little 720S, I can't see it going far wrong.Building an SUV is a sad but perhaps necessary evil. Performance manufacturers should really look at a different set of priorities to luxury marques. A McLaren, Ferrari, Lambo, Porsche, or even Bentley SUV should be something that could conceivably win a race. Make the body low and wide, and if it has to be jacked up, make it jacked up for sand dunes and mud pits, not Kensington kerbs and speedbumps. Most importantly, make it weigh less! Else there's no S about it, it's just a big fat squishy UV.
Writing the title made me wonder how many rear engined coupes have existed. I got 911 (obviously), some Alpines, Delorean, Fiat / Abarth versions of the 850. There must be more. But this is none of those. Its Japanese, made in the '80s and sold here in reasonable numbers. But they are now firmly in the category of 'rare but nobody gives a st'. And only a handful remain. It's a car I've had a yearning to own and got outbid on one at auction many years ago. More recently I contacted a seller on FB, we agreed a price and then he blocked me...So I broke the first rule of car buying and bought one s

I'm debating what I do with a speedo conversion. Plus point with the Lockwood is you get mph and kph whereas converting it on the CAN leaves you with mph only. Or I could just leave it in Km. I'm fairly used to doing it in my head that way around. Of course, there was an incident in the Forester where I forgot it was converted and I took it up to an indicated 100 thinking 'this feels strangely fast'
