My goodness, time flies when cars are working as expected!The Honda spent the summer relaxing elsewhere, but for a September road trip throguh France it was selected as the most likely to not cause issues, maintain decent progress, have working air conditioning and be able to lug cheese and wine home.Following a quick interior scrub, check of the tyres and oil I loaded a small bag of mandated French Driving Required Items alongside the holiday gubbins and pointed its snout to the Chunnel. First night was in Reims, and zero issues.Despite crusing around 85 for much of the route down to Annecy, some classics overtook us...We lucked out on the weather for the 10 days, and the speed of the autoroutes did not diminish our appreciation for the beauty of the ever-changing scenery.Hilariously the hotel in Annecy was overbooked, so after calmly and carefully expressing our displeasure, we managed to secure another cancelled Airbnb for 2 nights nearby. It all worked out - the host was a petrolhead and remarked immediately 'that's the Cog car!'. Lac Annecy is a smart and beautiful palce, but two nights there was enough. The town of Annecy itself is lovely and welcoming despite the popularity when you get off the main sights, but the amount of money sloshing about and attitude of some other visitors (not the locals, who were always cheery and encouraging to my poor French) in restaurants was disappointing.I was very happy to haphazardly park the dusty, fly-spattered Honda amongst some very expensive metal in one fancy car park.In another at the top of Annecy, the Honda is the right size while evidence of roof and pillar scrapes were evident from large modern vehicles. Also note the prime number.There were a handful of interesting motors when you explored the tight residential roads.On our way out to Provence we scaled a few peaks and got a nice view of Mont Blanc.I was particularly enamoured wiht the slice of Simpsons-inspired graffiti.Another driving day an arrived at the 'bas
