Great find.I always thought this generation of Rover 200 was underrated and it was a good looking car. Actually thinking about it, the previous generation was massively underrated in comparison to things like the turd that was the mid 90's Escort and Orion as well.Interesting aside, it was a bit of a parts bin special, I worked for an automotive tier 1 at the time and we provided Rover with wheel hubs, wheel spindles, etc and they came to us and asked us to design a wheel spindle that would connect and existing hub/disc assembly to an existing rear suspension design.They were insistent on a 15 micron wheel bearing shaft tolerance, we said if you make it 25 microns we can turn it rather than grind it, they said no. We said, ok we'll prove it. We gave the some prototype spindles for an existing car FOC, that were 50 microns below the bottom tolerance, they tested them and couldn't tell the difference, as a result it has turned rear wheel spindles.

Writing the title made me wonder how many rear engined coupes have existed. I got 911 (obviously), some Alpines, Delorean, Fiat / Abarth versions of the 850. There must be more.But this is none of those. Its Japanese, made in the '80s and sold here in reasonable numbers. But they are now firmly in the category of 'rare but nobody gives a st'. I'm debating what I do with a speedo conversion. Plus point with the Lockwood is you get mph and kph whereas converting it on the CAN leaves you with mph only. Or I could just leave it in Km. I'm fairly used to doing it in my head that way around. Of course, there was an incident in the Forester where I forgot it was converted and I took it up to an indicated 100 thinking 'this feels strangely fast'
