Yes, I think it's entirely sensible to move upmarket and focus on delighting 10-15k customers globally per car in the range, which is all they need to do to hit their 40k pa target.And the key word is 'delight' I think. People simply need to love the idea of owning such a car.It's plainly a cool looking thing, very unique. My greatest concern is tech and functionality, everything needs to just 'work', which is tricky for JLR as they have relatively tiny R&D budgets for every part of their cars - Vs this new jags competitors who're all now owned by car manufacturing giants which can spend a billion on an infotainment system etc. Rolls Royce use BMW tech as they simply couldn't afford to develop their own, for example.But happily, the latest Range Rover tech is competitive and works pretty well, so it should be ok. I just don't want to see a potentially great car fail to delight, by annoying early customers.NB I know tech isn't the point of all cars, but you spend £150k++ on a new car to show off in, it's a bit of bugger if the wife's baby Merc actually has a better infotainment system etc...
