stickylabels said: Good wee jaunt out to the last Rhynd of the year yesterday in the B10. Weather tried it's Scottish thing now and again but not too bad. Really good turn out with a great mix of stuff.Lovely e36 Alpina;B10 getting dwarfed (again),Chums Alfa looking just so;That E36 suits the Alpina trim so well...Would still rather have the E39 though Kenny...
Oil change completed with Motul oil & Mahle filter;Spring clean time before the weather goes all Dave. I came across YUM stuff on the Tube and thought I'd give it a go. Bought their Citrus cleaner, shampoo and the Foam +. Always sceptical of magic potions but you don't really know unless you try. The citrus cleaner was ok but Bilt Hamber Surfex HD is better in my view, more adaptable for different jobs and much cheaper if you buy 5 litres. The shampoo is fine, good suds and very slick feeling. The big test though was the Foam +, it is foam on, rinse off and protect.I have used it on No 1's e90 in (dark) Monaco blue, came up lovely and shiny and is lasting well after a few weeks, used it on the C43 convertible (white) and same result. Used it on the shed (caravan in Dan speak...) and water is just running off with no black streaks. Used it on the touring and No2's silver fox Fiesta ST and same results, all good and the same with the dark blue i3. The main thing about the Foam+ is the very hydrophobic effect and how quickly the job is done after you have washed the car. Only time will tell how long it lasts, a trek up the A9 soon will soon check that but the i3 and the e90 have both been much easier to wash since.Quick gliptone of all the leather surfaces in the touring and a good gummi phledge of all the rubber seals while I was at it and the old girl looking quite sharp again. I was tempted to put the BBS back on but the weather means not worth it yet.Just need to find somewhere with super U/L now as the light is on....!

Writing the title made me wonder how many rear engined coupes have existed. I got 911 (obviously), some Alpines, Delorean, Fiat / Abarth versions of the 850. There must be more. But this is none of those. Its Japanese, made in the '80s and sold here in reasonable numbers. But they are now firmly in the category of 'rare but nobody gives a st'. And only a handful remain. It's a car I've had a yearning to own and got outbid on one at auction many years ago. More recently I contacted a seller on FB, we agreed a price and then he blocked me...So I broke the first rule of car buying and bought one s

I'm debating what I do with a speedo conversion. Plus point with the Lockwood is you get mph and kph whereas converting it on the CAN leaves you with mph only. Or I could just leave it in Km. I'm fairly used to doing it in my head that way around. Of course, there was an incident in the Forester where I forgot it was converted and I took it up to an indicated 100 thinking 'this feels strangely fast'
