Only a few survived. Even cars like non GT Porsche, M cars, Audi RS, were all treated like the "top trim" choice rather than an enthusiast/sports variant, resulting in all the driver aids, automatic gearbox, 4 wheel drive and a 2500kg BMW M5. Strip a car down and make it "lively" and a bit more uncomfortable and your sales numbers will be so low you need to double the price.So EVs are an easy scapegoat, but they're not at the core of your issue as far as I can tell.
