F-Pace SVR owner here - here is my take.Are they pointless - pretty much. Do they guzzle fuel like its no tomorrow - yes. Tax - yes its high - tyres - stupidly expensive.Would I take a suv over a saloon / estate - probably not.However my reasoning for a F-Pace SVR:1. Spec - its good - no worrying about a million and one option packs like other brands2. Engine - simply epic - would like a bit more noise when around town tbh, a GMC Yukon has more V8 noise around town that I had in USA, but hit the exhaust button (I do everyday) and it helps. Dynamic and sports gearbox - yep pops if thats your th

I don’t have the mpg on display in mine, which means that I have no idea what it achieves and so one less thing to worry about. It seems a very British thing to do to spend 25K upgrading a car in order to save 2K in fuel. Maybe it’s a resentment at swiping that card in the petrol station so often.

I can’t wait until they fix the situation where you can fit tyres that have worse rolling resistance than the factory spec. ones. I think we can all agree that the current situation is untenable.
