Looks fantastic. Any car you can drive hundreds of miles to the 'ring, hammer around and then drive home again is a good one!
Since my last update the car has had an MOT in January and then a service last week.First up was the MOT. Sometimes it feels like a bit of a lottery but this year I wasn't too surprised as it had been an advisory in the past - "brake pipe corroded, covered in grease or other material" is the catch all statement that I sometimes feel is just an overzealous tester, not this time though! 2 on the rear failed and the offside front was an advisory so these 3 were replaced, brake fluid was replaced as well which I guess softens the blow as this was a job that needs doing every couple of years anyway. The garage I use were pretty reasonably priced so for £250 including the test we were legal again for another year.Up next was a service 91k miles showing on the odometer and 7k in the last 12 months. I did it myself last year but with so little free time and a couple of jobs I didn't want to tackle myself I decided to use a different garage close to work for convenience. My list was :Oil and filterCabin filterStrip brakes clean and grease slidersRepair exhaust heat shield rattleHeadlight brace bolts snapped causing a rattle Swap wheels over (summer tyres back on)You may remember the car is using a little oil, with 0w-20 I have tracked it over the last 12 months to be 4 litres over the last 7000 miles which equates to under 600ml/1000 miles. This has been a source of anxiety for me so ahead of the service I bought an oil analysis kit online from Ravenol to test for any metals, fuel or water in the oil.The results came back with "No action required - No cause for concern and no indication or causes of the oil use" there was also a list of elements found which I don't completely understand but all the results that matter were reassuringly low. I'm sure there will be someone reading this who will be able to interpret this better than me.This year I've opted for 5w-30 so I'll track my top ups again and monitor the usage. Also whilst it was in the workshop being serviced, actually a

Writing the title made me wonder how many rear engined coupes have existed. I got 911 (obviously), some Alpines, Delorean, Fiat / Abarth versions of the 850. There must be more. But this is none of those. Its Japanese, made in the '80s and sold here in reasonable numbers. But they are now firmly in the category of 'rare but nobody gives a st'. And only a handful remain. It's a car I've had a yearning to own and got outbid on one at auction many years ago. More recently I contacted a seller on FB, we agreed a price and then he blocked me...So I broke the first rule of car buying and bought one s

I'm debating what I do with a speedo conversion. Plus point with the Lockwood is you get mph and kph whereas converting it on the CAN leaves you with mph only. Or I could just leave it in Km. I'm fairly used to doing it in my head that way around. Of course, there was an incident in the Forester where I forgot it was converted and I took it up to an indicated 100 thinking 'this feels strangely fast'
