Kiernan said: That car looks familiar.Did a Euro road trip with the previous owner a few years ago and it was good as gold. The attached pictures are of the car coming down the Stelvio pass, and then later at the Ferrari Museum at Maranello - 4 Porsches at the home of the home of Ferrari certainly got a bit of attention. From memory, it was great on the twisty stuff and kept up with the 911's at normal road speeds; the Boxster's better balance allowed it to get round the corners brilliantly.I know the damage was very minor and Dan was gutted when the car was written off. So much so that he'

Had quite a busy day fiddling and mucking around with the Boxster today.First up was tackling the wheels. Brace yourselves for lots of riveting pictures of me cleaning some very dirty wheels! Drivers front was first up. The old wheel centre caps were looking really tired.I don’t think the wheels had been cleaned properly for some time. After removing the worst of the crud with citrus degreaser, it was time to break out the fall out remover and tar remover.I also started to get stick into the wheel arches whilst the wheels were off. These came up really well. First wheel finished with a new centre caps fitted.Passenger side next; shiny new damper fitted by the chap I bought the car from. The rear wheels were particularly manky.Like the fronts, the rear arches were given a pretty good clean. There was a lot of ste caught in the lip of both rear arches. For a 19 year old car, it’s remarkably clean underneath. Most of the parts and bolts all look in pretty good condition (better than my Z4 underneath for sure). I had a look at the coolant crossover pipes and they all looked dry and not corroded which is good.Once the wheels and arches were all done, I gave the roof a gentle scrub with APC and a brush. There was no algae of mould to worry about. The rear drains are nice and clear judging by how water was running out under the car whilst cleaning the roof.Next up was ghe obligatory snow foam shotRinsed, washed and dried ready for decontamination. There was quite a lot of fall out in the paint. The car was rinsed off, washed and dried again before I broke out the clay bar; there was quite a lot of stubborn tar.Rinsed, washed and dried again. There are quite a few marks all over the paint.I started masking the car up ready for polishing.I managed the get the rear wings and rear ended polished with the heavy cut. It came up really well. There are a few stubborn, deeper marks but the swirls marks are all but gone.I didn’t get quite as far as I’d hoped today because I got distracte

A somewhat unbalanced duo which is acknowledged from the start in this head to head. I would never put these two on the same page and i found myself unpicking the Porsche rather than comparing it to the Morgan. Despite the indifferences the 911 wins out.

If its styling fuses a little 6GT with a little 720S, I can't see it going far wrong.Building an SUV is a sad but perhaps necessary evil. Performance manufacturers should really look at a different set of priorities to luxury marques. A McLaren, Ferrari, Lambo, Porsche, or even Bentley SUV should be something that could conceivably win a race. Make the body low and wide, and if it has to be jacked up, make it jacked up for sand dunes and mud pits, not Kensington kerbs and speedbumps. Most importantly, make it weigh less! Else there's no S about it, it's just a big fat squishy UV.

Writing the title made me wonder how many rear engined coupes have existed. I got 911 (obviously), some Alpines, Delorean, Fiat / Abarth versions of the 850. There must be more. But this is none of those. Its Japanese, made in the '80s and sold here in reasonable numbers. But they are now firmly in the category of 'rare but nobody gives a st'. And only a handful remain. It's a car I've had a yearning to own and got outbid on one at auction many years ago. More recently I contacted a seller on FB, we agreed a price and then he blocked me...So I broke the first rule of car buying and bought one s
