I bought this car on a bit of a whim. It popped up in my favourite Whatsapp group of petrolheads as a link back to this very site's classified section. The price was right, blue on blue was perfect, 3.4 engine ideal, the aero kit was a bonus and the mileage was intriguing. I rang the seller after, ooh, about 30 seconds deliberation with myself over whether I really needed another car right now. As it happened, someone was due to view the car about an hour after I rang. Writing the title made me wonder how many rear engined coupes have existed. I got 911 (obviously), some Alpines, Delorean, Fiat / Abarth versions of the 850. There must be more.But this is none of those. Its Japanese, made in the '80s and sold here in reasonable numbers. But they are now firmly in the category of 'rare but nobody gives a st'. I'm debating what I do with a speedo conversion. Plus point with the Lockwood is you get mph and kph whereas converting it on the CAN leaves you with mph only. Or I could just leave it in Km. I'm fairly used to doing it in my head that way around. Of course, there was an incident in the Forester where I forgot it was converted and I took it up to an indicated 100 thinking 'this feels strangely fast'
