증상
코일오버로 전체적으로 45-50mm 낮춘 차량에서 드라이브샤프트 베어링이 4-5개월마다 양쪽 모두 교체가 필요할 정도로 빠르게 손상됨. 낮아진 차량으로 인한 드라이브샤프트의 각도 문제가 원인으로 보임.
처리 내용
독립식 후륜 서스펜션(IRS) 또는 변속기에서 디퍼렌셜로 가는 드라이브샤프트 모두에 적용되는 사항들을 고려해야 함. U조인트 쌍을 다룰 때 여러 중요한 사항이 있으며 모두 U조인트들 간의 관계와 관련됨. 드라이브샤프트의 양쪽 요크가 서로 같은 위치에 정렬되어야 함(클록 맞춤). 양쪽 요크가 일직선상에 정렬되지 않으면 진동 발생 및 U조인트 빠른 마모 발생. 각 끝단의 각도가 서로 보완적(complimentary angle)이어야 함. 보완적 각도가 아니면 역시 진동과 조인트 마모 발생. 이러한 각도들은 문제 발생을 피하기 위해 상당히 정밀해야 함. 요크가 디퍼렌셜/변속기에 장착될 때 드라이브샤프트에 정확히 수직이 되어서는 안 됨. 이유는 U조인트가 움직일 수 있는 여유가 필요하기 때문임.

I've just got back from a 12-day trip through France and Italy in my Tin Snail - a 1988 2CV6 Dolly, which I have owned for 16 years.
