J4CKO said: The car is looking smart J4CKO and now it's time to get it on a track Im booked in at Castle Combe on the 30/09/25 if you fancy it .
Need to book a trackday with the Fiesta, think will do Anglessey again.Have put some BlueStuff pads on and sorted the annoying exhaust blow, was a clamp that had come loose so loosened the other off, bashed the centre box I added back and then added a new better clamp to replace the loose one.Jag wise, behaving. Have set up "Torque Pro" on the Android screen to try and monitor the DPF, had a nightmare trying to pair Bluetooth Dongles as Android Head Units with Car Play are a bit selfish with the comms and grab BT and Wifi, got annoyed and tried it with a USB one and it worked first time so have wired that in permanently behind the dash to the USB leads from the head unit. But its saying that the DPF is 174% full so I reckon my "PIDs" arent right as it wouldnt run at that, the differential pressure and EGT seem ok but its a right faff trying to work out what is what. But, can just load the app and have a look whats going on, all depends on getting the correct values from the ECU which is a memory location in hex you have to use an equation on to display it right.Had a check of the rear subframe and the lowest bits were a little crusty, thankfully not too bad, nothing that a flap disk and some Kurust couldnt sort anyway but can see how these disintegrate over the years, mines not as old as some being a 2015 and only done low miles (38k) but lived in Edinburgh, can see how a higher miles 2010 could be structurally unsound if left.Waiting for some high Buzzweld CIO2 chassis paint so will lash that over it and have some Ardrox Aviation type corrosion inhibitor, will give it another treatment on the two areas, plus the crossmember as that was a bit ropey as well. Will then just check it each year and re-apply some rustproofer, reckon if left another 5 years and it would have rotted through and failed the MOT, doubt I will have it in five years but a bit of time spent now means it wont be a problem whilst I own it or for the next owner. Plus, when you come to sell it, its

Writing the title made me wonder how many rear engined coupes have existed. I got 911 (obviously), some Alpines, Delorean, Fiat / Abarth versions of the 850. There must be more. But this is none of those. Its Japanese, made in the '80s and sold here in reasonable numbers. But they are now firmly in the category of 'rare but nobody gives a st'. And only a handful remain. It's a car I've had a yearning to own and got outbid on one at auction many years ago. More recently I contacted a seller on FB, we agreed a price and then he blocked me...So I broke the first rule of car buying and bought one s

I'm debating what I do with a speedo conversion. Plus point with the Lockwood is you get mph and kph whereas converting it on the CAN leaves you with mph only. Or I could just leave it in Km. I'm fairly used to doing it in my head that way around. Of course, there was an incident in the Forester where I forgot it was converted and I took it up to an indicated 100 thinking 'this feels strangely fast'
