i had a 2.0l auto, put over 300k miles on it, one of the best cars ive ever had, al be it a bit boring, but it just worked.

With a weekend in Hinckley and Warwick planned to kick start our ambitious Saab 900 resurrection, the Accord stepped up immediately to fulfil its brief of chief load lugger and comfortable mile muncher.I topped up the coolant but everything else - oil, brake fluid, even the tyre pressures - were all spot on. amongst the gradually growing spares pile I picked out the newish set of interior mats to go straight in following a wet vac.In the bin:New mats not pictured. The look like the above without the missing chunks.We loaded up a Saab T16 wiring loom, anti-roll bar and various spares alongside our luggage for the weekend and hit the road.The Accord is impressive, perhaps in a way a lot of accomplished 2000s cars are. All the modern comforts in freezing weather were welcome, and with 6th gear and cruise control it is truly an excellent cruiser. The two hours flew by, and we arrived at our accomodation near Hinckley refreshed. Notably, I found night driving to be easy - the Insight and the GTV are lower and have awkward visibility for blind spot checks, plus pretty miserable mirrors and twitchier steering should you not spot a pot hole in the dark. The Accord has excellent visibility all round, decent headlights and the most legible dashboard ever, plus excellent ride quality.The next day we spent with the Saabs, and loaded up two sets of Saab 900 3 door interiors - the team at 2Refinish were as surprised as I was that not only did they fit, there was room to spare!We spent a day walking around Kenilworth castle and Leamington Spa, before a proper pub dinner and er, the Assembly Cut of Alien3 before bed (Poor David Fincher, it would have been a better film).This was actually the first time I had seen the car in proper daylight, and maybe I am getting older but I stand by my assertion that its execution of anonymous style "just...works", though much better in an actual color like blue:On the way back the rain cascaded relentless into the car - no leaks spotted yet, and
