절대적으로 그렇습니다. 이를 클러치를 타고 다닌다(riding the clutch)고 합니다. 발이 단순히 페달 위에만 있다고 생각하더라도, 페달을 누르게 되어 있는 여유 공간을 제거합니다. 이로 인해 릴리즈 베어링(throw out bearing)이 클러치 핑거에 계속 접촉하게 되어 약간의 압력을 가하고, 클러치의 그립감이 감소합니다. 이는 클러치 마찰판이 슬립하게 하고, 이로 인해 열이 발생하여 결국 마모가 진행됩니다. 제 경험상 이런 상황에서는 클러치가 반드시 마모되지 않을 수도 있지만, 슬립으로 인한 과도한 열이 플라이휠 표면에 열균열을 일으킵니다. 이는 운전자에게 상당한 고통을 주지는 않지만 매우 번거로운 문제입니다. 과정 중에 릴리즈 베어링도 매우 빠르게 마모됩니다. 페달에 발을 올려놓는 것은 매우 나쁜 습관입니다.

My beloved Caterham supersport departed this morning, after 18 months a few trackdays and two Alps trips. It was amazing and I will probably miss it slightly for the roads on my doorstep but....
